How to Install Minecraft Server (FTB Edition)

In this tutorial we go through the full installation of Minecraft on a Linux server.  You can follow along with the install process and get up and running in a few hours.  I know hours seems like a long time but there are files that need to be downloaded and this just takes a variable amount of time.

We are back up!

We are back up and working. Our new server is hosting our old world and so far we haven’t found any progress that was lost. If you do have some loss please let us know and we will try and get it back.

Enjoy and thanks for playing with us at twiddle.etekworld.com

What happened to Twiddle?

Saturday when we tried to start playing in the morning Twiddle was not responding. When we look into the server it was in a crashed state which would be the third time since we started this it happened. The sad thing is we tried everything from reinstalling to just install vanilla minecraft to no avail. This is the bad news. Since then contacting support was not helpful we have decided to find a new hosting provider.

We are currently in the process of getting Twiddle uploaded to the new server and should be back on. Please accept our sincerest apologies for these problems. Hopefully we will see in Twiddle Town soon!

For the past couple of months we have been playing Feed the Best Revelation. This is a fun mod pack since it has just about everything you could want in a mod. The other day one of my boy’s accidentally dump resident glowstone into our smeltry and it took forever to figure out how to get it out. So I though this would be something I would share with the Internet in case something like this happens to you.

First I tried to pull it our with one of the Thermal Dynamics reservoirs but all that did was add more glowstone liquid to the smeltry. Next I tried an empty bucket but nothing would come out. So at this point I tried to do a google search and guess what no answers.

The simple answer is to grab some fluid duct, a servo, and a reservoir or smeltry tank.

Place your reservoir next to the drain.

Now connect your fluid duct.

Set the servo on the connection to the smeltry and start pumping. Simple and easy just took me a while to figure this one out. Now you can use a bucket or what ever container you want to pull the glowstone out of your smeltry.

Now you can either use a bucket to empty the tank or get a thermal expansion reservoir to hold your glowstone.
